U.S. Navy demonstrates refuelling of an unmanned vessel

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division led a demonstration off the Virginia coast using a robotic towed connector. The system repeatedly captured, refuelled and released an unmanned surface vessel. The Navy presents the demonstration as a step towards persistent unmanned operations, not evidence of unrestricted operational autonomy.
